Happy Birthday vocaldente
30th June 2009
Some people are over the moon if they're particularly thrilled for one reason or other – we preferred to explore the insides of Mother Earth a bit more and chose Europe's biggest and oldest cultural cave as the venue for our anniversary show, the Balver Cave in the West German Sauerland region.
500 guests came from all corners of the country to sample this subterranean party, filling the cave with a wonderful, cheery mood. The cave greeted them with a huge light show, with microphones, cameras, film cranes and cables – the equipment of a full crew of highly motivated professionals ready to capture this very special night.
Though as it was clear that the night would be just as exciting for the audience as it would be for us, the show began with a few small instructions for the fans on how to behave when a camera would pan towards them, when to applaud etc... As we arrived onstage, we were greeted with a frenetic cheer – and the show could start! Over 3½ hours, we celebrated our way through a kingsize anniversary setlist, through lights and laughter – with our own private little highlight: a spontaneous birthday song the audience sang for us...
Time just flew by. It wasn't until midnight that the show was over and everyone was stumbling out of the cave, some slightly freezing, others tired, but everyone with a broad smile on their faces. Most of all, us! What a nice birthday this was!
For those who couldn't be part of our hilarious bash, a DVD scheduled to be released in Autumn offers the perfect opportunity to revive this and celebrate along with us. The very first vocaldente Live DVD! You'll learn the precise details of its release here on the website and in our newsletter.
